Job description

One Broker (part of the Jensten Group) is pleased to be recruiting an Insurance Advisor for our successful team in Cambridge.

Our friendly Personal Lines team consists of 11 colleagues within a larger broking office of over 40 people. While we offer a range of Personal insurance, this role will primarily focus on providing clients with adequate Home insurance cover, including both standard and non-standard policies.

We seek someone with previous insurance experience who wishes to develop a rewarding career within the Insurance Broking sector. Full support and training will be provided to familiarize you with our Household products and to enable you to advise clients effectively on their insurance needs.

The role initially involves working full-time in the office, with a flexible blend of office and home working available after successful completion of the probation period.

Key Objectives & Responsibilities:
  1. Checking new policy documentation for accuracy and forwarding it to clients or liaising with insurers.
  2. Negotiating and inviting renewal of allocated clients’ policies.
  3. Ensuring all client records accurately reflect the current risk on cover, including sums insured, perils, excesses, extensions, and exclusions.
  4. Processing mid-term adjustments.
  5. Dealing with clients’ day-to-day inquiries promptly and managing expectations.
  6. Maintaining an effective diary system.
  7. Liaising with the Claims department regarding claims queries and reports.
About You:

As an Insurance Advisor, you should possess strong customer service skills, the ability to multitask, and good time management skills. Prior insurance experience in any capacity (administration, claims, underwriting, or account handling) is required.

Additional skills and requirements include:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • A sincere interest in developing a career within the insurance/broking sector.
  • Customer service experience in a professional office environment.
  • A desire to work towards CII Qualifications (not essential).
