Job summary

Westray Recruitment Group seeks an Instrumentation Pipe Fitter to join our client in Sunderland, performing installation and maintenance of pipework in workshop or on-site environments. You will read P&IDs and ensure installations meet project specifications and safety standards.

You will receive training on company products and systems, with overtime expectations and full PPE provided. A UK driving licence is required, with forklift licence advantageous, and a pension scheme available.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence is required.
• Forklift truck licence would be advantageous.
• Experience in pipefitting and hydraulic systems is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with punctuality and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Report directly to the Piping Supervisor within the Local Piping Management Team.
• Install connections and pipework in workshop or on site, working alone or as part of a team.
• Mark off and install brackets, measure site run pipework and bend it accordingly with suitable bending equipment.
• Carry out mechanical assemblies and installations; maintain and service the fleet of equipment.
• Read and understand P&ID’s and develop drawings for site estimating; communicate with customers and teams.

THE BUSINESS

Westray Recruitment Group are seeking a Instrumentation Pipe Fitter to join our client in Sunderland who is a global company specialising in piping systems for various industries. They operate globally with multiple branches; providing a full range of products and services to various industries. They have a focus on reliability and environmental friendliness. The organisation has a solid order book and can provide role stability as they have a long serving history with their clients.

As a result of increase in work and a busy order book they are seeking a Instrumentation Pipe Fitter to join their team.

THE ROLE

• You will report directly to the Piping Supervisor within the Local Piping Management Team
• You will be able to work alone or as part of a team either in the workshop or onsite being able to carry out installation of connections and pipework.
• Your work will include being able to mark off and install brackets, being able to measure site run pipework and bend it accordingly with use of suitable bending equipment.
• You will be provided training on all company products, systems and equipment.
• You will carry out mechanical assemblies and installations.
• You will be able to maintain the business’ fleet of equipment and service it.
• You must be available to work overtime & weekends when required.
• You have the ability to manage time, work efficiently under pressure and meet demanding deadlines.
• You will carry out pipefitting and small-bore tubing and have the ability to manufacture simple and complex geometry piping
• You can read and understand P&ID’s, schematics and develop own drawings/sketches for site estimating
• You can communicate well with all customer types and levels, from workshop to corporate.
• You need good working knowledge of standard office software such as Microsoft Excel and Word
• Having knowledge of hydraulic systems would be advantageous

THE PERSON

• A full UK driving licence is required for this role.
• A Forklift truck licence would be advantageous.
• You will have a professional attitude.
• Having worked at hydraluic companies carrying out pipefitting would advantageous.
• SBT (small bore tubing) certifications are advantageous.
• You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• You will be reliable, punctual and trustworthy.
• You will have a good understanding of H&S requirements through industry.
• You are comfortable working outside in all elements of weather when required.
• You must have excellent time management and organisation skills with the ability to prioritise.
• You will have a positive attitude to learn, develop and progress within a large global organisation
• Additional Certificates Preferred include Offshore BOSIET & Medical and SBT Experience
