Qualifications

As an Instrumentation and Control Engineering Instructor you will deliver practical and theoretical teaching sessions to a cohort of Instrumentation and Control apprentices from a variety of backgrounds and local employers. Your role will involve working within the Westinghouse - Springfields Training Academy delivering the training to the Apprentices in the workshop and completing on-site and off-site reviews/assessment. Your work also involves the opportunity to deliver to the on-site employers required site competency training.

You will report to the Training Manager and be located at Springfields Fuel Site. This role is an onsite position.

Key Responsibilities
  • To deliver, plan, design, develop and engaging and inclusive learning programmes, schemes of work, lesson plans and materials to deliver high quality structured learning sessions to meet learner and customer needs and programme specifications (required support and training will be given).
  • Contribute to the internal verification, assessment and standardisation of work process and to the development and delivery, in the pursuit of continuous improvement.
  • Supervision of apprentices including supporting safeguarding and wellbeing.
  • Maintain the required learner tracking records relating to learner progress, achievement, that meet company, funding, awarding body and customer requirements.
  • Manage the delivery environment and the learning process to ensure the safety behaviours and housekeeping alongside the well-being of all learners. To work with the site supervisors and employers ensuring guidance is contributing to the management of learner behavior.
  • To ensure that all deliver session resources are safe for use and to ensure stock is ordered and managed to maintain the required level consumable items.
  • Ensure compliance with all legislative, regulatory and company policy standards and procedures e.g. safety, quality, risk, security applicable to the role.
Qualifications
  • You will have a minimum of Level 3 qualification in Instrumentation and Control Engineering / Electrical Engineering
  • Maths and English at GCSE Grade C or equivalent
  • Level 3 teaching qualification and assessor qualification desirable (candidate must be willing to work towards).
  • HNC in relevant discipline desirable
  • Instrumentation and control skills with experience.
  • Willingness to continue professional development
  • Knowledge of learning and development process including instructional skills, presentation skills, needs assessments and an understanding of learning theory, curriculum planning – training will be given.
  • Previous experience in training and development desired
  • Strong presentation skills via variety of methods
