Job summary

A leading company is looking for a Senior / Principal Controls & Instrumentation Engineer to join their team in Wolverhampton. You will be responsible for undertaking functional design, liaising with clients, and producing technical documents. The ideal candidate will have a STEM degree and experience in PLC/SCADA programming, and will possess strong technical knowledge in communications and control systems. Job Description:

Senior / Principal Controls & Instrumentation Engineer

What you’ll be doing as a Controls & Instrumentation Engineer:

  • Undertaking functional design, providing specialist advice, and producing evidence.
  • Liaising with internal and external customers as part of a technical team.
  • Electrical/Electronic installation for Communications and Control & Instrumentation (C&I).
  • Design of Test Infrastructure and Hardware.
  • Writing and producing technical & test documents.

Your skills and experiences as a Controls & Instrumentation Engineer:

  • A relevant Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) Degree or equivalent.
  • Experience in PLC and SCADA programming, C&I system verification test design, or parts specification would be advantageous.
  • Good technical knowledge in at least one of the following areas: Communications Systems (Voice Over IP (VOIP) networks, Broadcast (PA), or trunked radio systems) or Control & Instrumentation (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, and Fanuc PLCs).
