At a Glance

The Instrument Technician is responsible to the Maintenance Supervisor for the maintenance of all instrument/electrical equipment within H&P scope/area of responsibility.

Work Type: permanent

Type: 3*3 rotation

What you will do

• Maintain and repair as necessary all instrument/electrical equipment, investigating defects and submitting reports as required.
• Maintain a preventative maintenance programme in accordance with Group repair and preventative maintenance procedures as directed by immediate supervisor.
• Ensure that all equipment under their control complies with statutory requirements and is always maintained in a safe condition or is otherwise completely withdrawn from service.
• Monitor any instrument/electrical equipment supplied by other contractors or sub‑contractors to ensure that it is suitable for use within the areas desired.
• Plan maintenance and repairs to minimise the effect on the drilling operation and to carry out the maintenance tasks specified by the computerised maintenance system.
• Recommend and when required embody modifications to equipment or systems to enhance safety, improve rig performance or comply with statutory notices.
• Carry out tasks as part of a multi‑discipline maintenance team as operational requirements dictate.

What you need

• Offshore Survival certificate.
• OGUK Medical.
• Significant experience working in the drilling industry or with drilling equipment related to maintenance environment.
• Experienced within e-CoW permit to work system.
• Microsoft Office literate.
• Be able to work in an integrated maintenance team.
• Experience of CMMS, i.e. SAP, Maximo.
• Exposure to offshore working environment with some knowledge of Permit systems.
