Job summary

Indra is seeking a practical, reliable Installation Technician to support the delivery, installation and commissioning of Air Traffic Control simulator systems at customer sites in the UK and overseas. The role is based in Bournemouth with extensive travel, covering bid support, equipment prep, installation, configuration, testing and handover.

The candidate should have IT-based experience, strong problem-solving, and excellent communication skills, with the ability to travel and work on-site

Qualifications

• Good standard of IT-related education and experience in an IT-based environment.
• Experience and understanding of IT fault finding, including networking.
• IT professional qualification (desirable).
• Custom Installation (CI) qualification (desirable).
• Experience with LAN and mains backbone specifications (desirable).
• Experience in a customer-facing role.

Responsibilities

• Delivery, installation, building, configuration and testing of simulators to customer sites.
• Site visits to assess the viability of installs.
• Creation of technical documents for bids and installation documentation.
• Preparation of equipment orders.
• Configuring hardware and software.
• Shipping of completed simulators.
• Troubleshooting issues.
• Liaising with Project Managers to meet milestones.

Job description

We areseekinga practical,reliableand technically capable Installation Technician to support the delivery,installationand commissioning of Air Traffic Control simulator systems at customer sites in the UK and overseas.

Whilst this role will be based at our offices in Bournemouth it will involve extensive travel.

The role covers a broad range of delivery activities, from supporting bids and preparing equipment through to building, installation, configuration, testing,troubleshootingand customer handover.

It would suit a Deskside Support, FieldServiceor IT Infrastructure professional looking to develop within the aviation simulation sector.

Key Duties include:

• Delivery, installation,building,configurationand testing of simulators to customer sites
• Site visits to assess the viability of installs
• Creationoftechnicaldocuments forbids
• Creation of installation documentation
• Preparation of equipment orders
• Configuringhardware and software
• Shipping of completedsimulators
• Troubleshooting

• Liaisingwith Project Managers to ensurekey milestones are met

• Experience of installing and setting up computer hardware, networks, domain accounts, and of troubleshooting and rectifying user and hardware issues.
• Proficiencywith Windows Operating Systems – both desktop (Windows11) and server (Server 2022/2025including roles).
• Understanding of the configuration and operation of server and networking infrastructure.
• Good understanding of hardware and software specifications.
• Strongproblem-solvingskills.
• Good written and presentation skills.
• Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to supportcustomersof varying levels ofproficiency.
• Ability to travel tocustomer sites within the UK and overseas.
• Valid driving licenseand passport.
• Able to undertakemanual handing tasksand working in operational environments.

Education & Experience:

• A good standard of educationrelated toIT and experience in an IT-based environment.
• Experience and understanding of ITfault finding, includingnetworking
• IT professional qualification (desirablenotessential).
