Job summary

Automation Experts is seeking an Installation Engineer with Electrical or Mechanical background to join its multidisciplinary team. You will be responsible for the build, installation, commissioning and servicing of bespoke industrial equipment, including conveyors and automated systems.

The role combines workshop build with on-site installation and commissioning across the UK, with approximately 50% travel to customer sites.

Qualifications

• Electrical or Mechanical background is required.
• Willingness to travel around 50% across the UK.

Responsibilities

• Installation, assembly and commissioning of bespoke manufacturing machinery, conveyor systems and automated equipment.
• Mechanical build and/or electrical installation of specialist line control and handling equipment.
• Support workshop build and prepare equipment for installation.
• Installation, service, maintenance and repair of customer equipment.
• Fault finding and troubleshooting across electrical, mechanical and automated systems.
• Support commissioning activities both in-house and at customer sites.
• Work with electrical, mechanical and controls engineers to deliver complete automated systems.
• Support software/program development where relevant to your discipline and experience.
• Carry out service and maintenance work at customer plants.
• Provide timely and accurate technical support and resolve issues on-site.
• Ensure all work is completed safely, accurately and to the required standard.

Installation Engineer – Electrical or Mechanical

£40-45k OTE £50k + Overtime, Van, Bonus

North West – 50% Travel across UK

This company designs and delivers bespoke machinery, handling equipment and conveyor systems for manufacturing and industrial customers. With a strong focus on automation and systems integration, this is an opportunity to work on varied projects from workshop build through to installation and commissioning.

Whether your background is electrical or mechanical, you’ll be part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, working on the build, installation, commissioning and servicing of specialist automated equipment.

Installation Engineer – The Role:

• Installation, assembly and commissioning of bespoke manufacturing machinery, conveyor systems and automated equipment
• Mechanical build and/or electrical installation of specialist line control and handling equipment
• Supporting workshop build and preparing equipment for installation
• Installation, service, maintenance and repair of customer equipment
• Fault finding and troubleshooting across electrical, mechanical and automated systems
• Supporting commissioning activities both in-house and at customer sites
• Working alongside electrical, mechanical and controls engineers to deliver complete automated systems
• Supporting software/program development where relevant to your discipline and experience
• Carrying out service and maintenance work at customer plants
• Providing timely and accurate technical support and resolving issues on-site
• Ensuring all work is completed safely, accurately and to the required standard

You’ll need to be flexible and happy to travel around 50% of the time across the UK, with work split between the workshop and customer sites.
