Job summary

Interlinx is seeking an Installation Design Engineer to support a major London Underground infrastructure project on a 12-15-month contract. The role requires converting site knowledge into installable designs for CMS containment and associated electrical systems, with hybrid working (2 days in office, 3 days remote).

You will collaborate with site teams and disciplines, review drawings, and ensure compliance with London Underground standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Installation Design Engineer on infrastructure projects (London Underground preferred).
• Electrical installation background with site-based experience.
• Demonstrable CMS / cable containment design experience, especially for London Underground.
• Experience with engineering drawings and design documentation.

Installation Design Engineer - London Underground

Interlinx is looking for an Installation Design Engineer to join a major London Underground infrastructure project on a 12-15-month contract.

Contract: 12-15 months
IR35: Outside IR35
Location: London - Hybrid (2 days office / 3 days remote)
Hours: 8-hour working days

The ideal candidate will come from an electrical site installation background and have progressed into installation design, with proven experience designing CMS (Cable Management System) containment within the London Underground environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce detailed installation designs for CMS containment and associated electrical systems.
• Develop practical, buildable design solutions for the London Underground environment.
• Work closely with site teams, engineers, and other disciplines.
• Review drawings, existing designs, and site information to develop effective engineering solutions.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant London Underground standards and project requirements.
• Support the project through the design and installation phases.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Installation Design Engineer.
• Electrical installation background, ideally with previous site-based experience.
• Demonstrable experience designing CMS / cable containment systems.
• Previous London Underground experience is essential, particularly on infrastructure projects.
• Good understanding of installation methodologies and constructability.
• Understanding of engineering drawings and design documentation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary project team.
