Job summary

Atlas Copco is seeking a skilled Installation Project Leader to drive delivery of mechanical installation projects across the UK. You will oversee planning, scheduling, budgeting, and cross-functional coordination to ensure profitability and on-time completion.

You will manage customer relationships, mentor project teams, and ensure RAMS, safety, and quality standards are met while promoting continuous improvement across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience managing mechanical, HVAC, or industrial pipework installation projects.
• Strong planning, scheduling, cost control, and margin management.
• Able to read engineering drawings and P&IDs.
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
• Safety awareness with supervisory certification desirable (SSSTS/SMSTS/IOSH).
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sites.

Job description

What You’ll Do

• Lead and manage the installation business, taking ownership of projects from order handover through to commissioning and sign-off
• Oversee resource planning and scheduling to maximise technician utilisation and operational efficiency
• Manage project lifecycles, budgets, costs, materials, and profitability across multiple installation projects
• Coordinate internal teams, subcontractors, equipment, and logistics to ensure successful project delivery
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships, acting as the key point of contact throughout project delivery
• Lead, motivate, and develop project managers, planners, and installation technicians
• Ensure all installations comply with health, safety, quality, and regulatory standards, including RAMS and pressure systems requirements
• Drive continuous improvement through project reviews, variation management, and performance analysis

Requirements

• NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
• Previous experience managing mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, industrial pipework, or compressed air installation projects
• Strong understanding of project planning, scheduling, cost control, and margin management
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and P&IDs
• Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Health and safety awareness, with supervisory safety certification desirable (SSSTS, SMSTS, or IOSH Managing Safely)
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sites
