Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. is recruiting a Year 1 Teacher for a welcoming primary school in Towcester, starting in November 2026. The role is full-time, long-term with potential permanent placement, teaching KS1 and supporting pupils transitioning from the Early Years to Key Stage 1.

The ideal candidate will have QTS, strong literacy and numeracy knowledge, excellent classroom management, and a collaborative approach with staff and parents to foster a love of learning in a nurturing environment.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent is required.
• Experience teaching within Key Stage 1 is desirable.
• Strong literacy and numeracy understanding for early years transition.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with Year 1/KS1 curriculum.
• Create an inclusive, safe, and motivated learning environment.
• Support transitions from Reception to Year 1 and promote independence.
• Monitor and track pupil progress to identify learning needs.
• Adapt teaching to meet diverse abilities and learning styles.
• Establish positive behaviour and consistent routines.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants, colleagues and parents.
• Contribute to school community and enrichment activities.
