Job summary

Wayland Academy, Watton, part of Inspiration Trust, is seeking a Teaching Assistant with personal care to support pupils to achieve their potential. The role is 32.5 hours per week, over 5 days, 39 weeks per year, starting October 2026.

Based at Wayland Academy, you will enable access to learning and assist the teacher in managing pupils and classroom routines. The ideal candidate will have experience with children, safeguarding knowledge, and First Aid training, contributing to pastoral care

Qualifications

  • Experience of working with or caring for children of relevant age.
  • Knowledge of relevant policies and codes of practice and awareness of legislation.
  • First aid training.

Responsibilities

  • To undertake care and learning programmes and activities to support individuals or groups of pupils, including SEND or EAL support.
  • To enable access to learning and assist the teacher in managing pupils and the classroom.
  • To provide personal care where required (continence, health, medication, manual handling).
  • To promote good pupil behaviour and manage incidents in line with policy.
  • To assist with supervision of pupils out of lesson times as required.
  • To prepare and use equipment/resources to meet lesson plans and support ICT learning activities.
