Job summary

Humberston Academy in Grimsby is seeking a motivated Teaching Assistant to support teachers’ strategies and enable all students to access a knowledge‑rich, inclusive curriculum. You will work with the Quality of Education Team and contribute to SEND reviews in partnership with the SENCO and external agencies.

Responsibilities

• Develop an in depth understanding of the specific needs of individual and groups of students.
• Guide, support and empower students to develop personal, emotional and social development.
• Assess, plan, organise and provide practical assistance in relation to identified physical needs and PHSE to promote independence.
• Observe individuals and groups of students' personal, social and learning achievements; maintain records and provide reports.
• Plan and undertake routine learning activities with individuals or groups to support development.
• Monitor conduct and behaviour and help de-escalate challenging situations to maintain a safe learning environment.
