Job summary

Concordia Academy in Romford is seeking a highly skilled SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. You will support children with SEND, including EHCPs, across a busy primary setting, helping them access learning and participate fully.

The role requires at least one year of SEND experience, a Level 2 qualification in play work/childcare, and ideally Paediatric first aid. You will work alongside the class teacher, build trusting relationships with students and parents, and contribute to

Qualifications

• At least one year experience of working with SEND children in the primary age range.
• Experience in a friendly, busy school environment.
• Understanding of children with SEN needs.
• Level 2 qualification in play work/childcare.
• Paediatric first aid qualification (desirable).
• Knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
• Sympathetic understanding of emotional, social and intellectual needs of SEND children.
• Motivated to inspire confidence in children with SEND.

Responsibilities

• Support children with a variety of needs including EHCPs.
• Work with the class teacher to support learning.
• Use initiative to enhance teaching and learning.
• Build relationships with students, parents and staff.
• Support behaviour management and safeguarding.
