Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is recruiting a Special Needs teacher for a specialist SEND school in Rochdale. This temporary supply role runs from September 2026 to cover sickness absence, with five days a week 8:30am–3:30pm and potential part-time options (3 days+).

The role focuses on KS3 pupils with ASD, SEMH and other emotional/behavioural needs. The ideal candidate is committed to inclusion and capable of creating adapted lessons and leading teaching assistants.

Qualifications

• Hold QTS or QTLS status.
• Recent experience teaching students aged 11–16 with SEND.
• Enhanced DBS disclosure and relevant checks.
• Have the legal right to work in the UK.
• Provide a CV with a full employment/education history and explain gaps

Responsibilities

• Teach a KS3 class with ASD, SEMH and other emotional/behavioural needs.
• Create imaginative and adapted lessons meeting student needs.
• Collaborate with staff, pupils, parents and multidisciplinary team.
• Direct and support teaching assistants as required.
• Demonstrate commitment to inclusion and high-quality teaching.
