Job summary

Kedleston Group Ltd's Oakbridge School in Birmingham is seeking an English Teacher to deliver high-quality English lessons to KS3/4 pupils, including those with EHCPs. You will plan, adapt and embed reading, writing and oracy across learning, assess progress and provide clear targets.

You will join a supportive, specialist environment dedicated to autistic children, with ongoing professional development and a commitment to safeguarding and inclusion. QTS and SEND experience are valued.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a teaching degree or equivalent.
• A qualification in SEND education is desirable.
• Experience of working with children with SEND and ASC.
• Teaching experience delivering the English National Curriculum.
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and motivate children and young people.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A commitment to continuous professional development and innovation in teaching methods.

Responsibilities

• Deliver inclusive, high-quality English lessons to KS3/4 pupils with EHCPs.
• Plan and adapt teaching to meet individual needs and curriculum requirements.
• Embed reading, writing and oracy across learning.
• Assess, track and report pupil progress, using data to inform teaching.
• Provide feedback and set clear targets for improvement.
• Contribute to school improvement, moderation and best practice sharing.
• Work collaboratively with English Lead, colleagues and communicate with parents/carers.
• Support school activities, policies and wider life of the school.
