Job summary

Qualifications

• QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) is essential.
• Recent in-service training is essential.
• Experience in a special or mainstream school is essential.
• Knowledge of the curriculum, child development and assessment of learning and progress.
• Experience working with pupils with SEND; ASD experience is valuable.
• Experience monitoring teaching standards, managing colleagues and supporting staff development.
• A flexible, resilient approach and commitment to safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons across KS3, KS4 and KS5.
• Teach pupils with SEND, including those with complex autism.
• Lead and support staff delivering learning on a one-to-one, small-group and whole-class basis.
• Monitor pupils' progress, evaluate learning outcomes and adapt teaching to abilities.
• Work collaboratively with families and wider teams to support pupils.
• Contribute to the school's inclusive, therapeutic approach and promote positive outcomes.
