Job summary

Wellspring Trust is seeking a dedicated Grade 4 Teaching Assistant to support Greenacre School Barnsley in fostering an inclusive learning environment for children with special educational needs. You will assist with academic and personal development throughout the school day, under a teacher's guidance.

The role requires prior school experience, GCSEs in Maths and English, and an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Experience in a school or similar setting.
• GCSE Maths and English or equivalent.
• NVQ Level 3 qualification or working towards.

Responsibilities

• Get the classroom ready for lessons.
• Observe and document student progress, providing feedback to the teaching team on their development.
• Collaborate with teachers and other staff to develop individual education plans for students requiring additional support.
• Help manage classroom behaviour by implementing strategies that promote positive interactions among students.
• Completing records/pupils plans.
• Leading small and whole class group work.

Skills

Experience in school or similar

SEN/SEND experience (ideally)

Education
