Job summary

Teach Midlands is seeking a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in a supportive school community. You will work with the class teacher/Inclusion Manager to support children with special educational needs, delivering targeted interventions and providing progress feedback.

You will supervise lunch times and contribute to a positive, caring environment that upholds our Christian ethos. The role involves 1:1 and small-group work in a primary setting.

  • Be able to work effectively as part of a team and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Experience of working with children with additional needs in a primary setting.
  • The ability to adapt tasks to meet the needs of the child/children.
  • Desire to develop knowledge and skills and undertake professional development to support a child with SEN.
  • Excellence initiative.
  • Experience of delivering interventions to groups and/or 1:1.
  • A secure knowledge of positive behaviour management strategies.
  • The skills to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • To support children who have special educational needs.
  • Deliver interventions based on learning plan targets to both specified children and a wider group across the school.
  • Provide feedback on learning progress to the class teacher.
  • Work both within the classroom setting and deliver interventions 1:1 or in a small group.
