Job summary

Barrow School in Cheshire is seeking a qualified SEN Primary Teacher to deliver engaging, individualised learning to pupils aged 7-11 with autism and additional learning needs.

You will work closely with therapists, support staff and families to ensure every student achieves success academically, socially and emotionally, and you will contribute to annual reviews, reports and parent meetings. The role requires QTS/NQT or equivalent and a commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching children or young people with SEND.
• Experience Teaching Within a Primary Setting.
• Understanding of the Primary National Curriculum.
• Experience supporting children with SEND and diverse learning needs.
• Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate learning strategies.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to adapt learning to meet individual needs.
• Strong organisational and IT skills.
• QTS/NQT or equivalent, or Level 3 Teaching Award
• Good interpersonal skills including ability to work effectively team of people and agencies.
• Ability to work collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of teaching and learning to pupils with Autism and learning difficulties, delivering the national curriculum.
• Implement strategies for raising achievement and professional development.
• Support pupils to make progress against EHCP targets.
• Safeguarding and protecting our pupils.
• Raise attendance, attainment and achievement.
• Work with pupils to develop life skills and independence.
