Job summary

Prospero Teaching is looking for a dedicated SEN Secondary / Post-16 Teacher to support learners aged 11-19 with ASC, MLD, SLD and SEMH needs in a specialist provision. You will deliver differentiated lessons, support EHCP targets, and help students develop academic, vocational and life skills to prepare for adulthood and independent living.

The role is temporary/permanent with flexible start dates. The school stresses a structured, supportive environment and close collaboration with staff,

Qualifications

• QTS, QTLS, or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching within SEN, Secondary, or Further Education settings.
• Understanding of Autism, Learning Difficulties, and SEMH needs.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Planning and delivering engaging lessons for SEN learners aged 11-19.
• Supporting students with EHCPs and individual learning targets.
• Developing students' communication, independence, and life skills.
• Preparing learners for further education, employment, and adulthood.
• Working closely with support staff, therapists, and parents.
• Monitoring progress and maintaining accurate pupil records.
• Creating a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
