Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Science Teacher for a secondary school in Norwich, starting January. You will plan and deliver engaging lessons across KS3 and KS4, focusing on building a strong GCSE foundation and practical scientific skills.

You will assess progress, differentiate for mixed-ability classes and collaborate with the science team to sustain high expectations. A supportive environment will help both experienced teachers and ECTs thrive in this role.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science or related discipline.
• QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Ability to teach Science across KS3 and KS4.
• Secure subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry and/or Physics.
• Strong behaviour management and lesson-planning skills.
• Experience differentiating learning for pupils with varying abilities and needs.
• Commitment to assessment, pupil progress and safeguarding.
• Legal right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver lessons that develop pupils' understanding across the Science curriculum.
• Use explanations, practical demonstrations, investigative tasks and applications to foster critical thinking.
• Monitor pupil progress and respond to assessment outcomes with targeted follow-up.
• Collaborate with other Science teachers to share resources and maintain consistent expectations.
• Support examination preparation and provide clear feedback to pupils.
