Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is assisting a modern secondary academy in Leeds to appoint a passionate Science Teacher for an ASAP start. You will deliver practical and theoretical science across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with potential Key Stage 5 biology, chemistry, or physics delivery within the STEM faculty.

You will lead safe experiments, support practical assessments, and help pupils develop scientific reasoning, while contributing to co-curricular science clubs.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or UK-recognized credentials (PGCE/SCITT acceptable)
• Honors degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics or closely related science
• Strong practical laboratory skills and CLEAPSS safety knowledge
• Active enhanced DBS check on the Update Service or willingness to apply

Responsibilities

• Teach practical and theoretical Science across KS3, KS4, and KS5
• Plan, resource and run safe laboratory experiments per CLEAPSS guidelines
• Prepare GCSE and A-Level practicals, data analysis and exam preparation
• Maintain laboratories, equipment and chemical inventories safely
• Assess, track and report student progress in practical and written work
• Fulfill pastoral duties as a Form Tutor and support student wellbeing
