Job summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic Science Teacher to deliver biology, chemistry and physics to Key Stage 3 and 4 in a vibrant Birmingham secondary academy. The role may include occasional Key Stage 5 A-Level delivery depending on subject discipline and school needs.

You will foster scientific curiosity, build essential practical skills, and drive progress in GCSE Combined and Separate Sciences while supporting pastoral duties within a supportive faculty.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher/Learnings Status (QTLS) with a degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a closely related science discipline.
• Experience teaching Science across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 within a UK mainstream secondary school or academy.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging science lessons across KS3/KS4 (GCSE Combined and Separate Sciences).
• Conduct safe practical experiments, manage storage and lab equipment to CLEAPSS guidelines.
• Assess progress, provide targeted interventions to reach target grades.
• Lead or contribute to STEM extracurricular activities and university outreach.
• Fulfill pastoral duties as Form Tutor and support pupil wellbeing.
