Job summary

Secondary Academy Birmingham is seeking a Biology Teacher to deliver engaging theory and practical biology across KS3, GCSE Biology, and A-Level Biology, preparing students for higher education in medicine and life sciences.

The successful candidate will join a dynamic Science faculty in well-equipped laboratories, lead practical investigations, assess progress, and mentor students entering STEM paths while contributing to pastoral duties.

Qualifications

• QTS or QTLS with a Biology or related life sciences degree.
• Experience teaching Biology to KS3-KS4 in UK schools; A-Level experience desirable.
• Strong subject knowledge and ability to explain complex concepts.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver Biology lessons across KS3, GCSE Biology, and A-Level.
• Lead practicals in laboratory sessions safely and in line with guidelines.
• Mentor students for university applications in STEM.
• Track progress with diagnostic assessments and targeted interventions.
• Fulfill form tutor pastoral responsibilities.
