Job summary

Wayman Education is seeking a thoughtful and enthusiastic Religious Studies Teacher for a Leicester-based secondary school. You will plan and deliver Religious Studies lessons across KS3–KS4, developing pupils' critical thinking and encouraging respectful debate.

The ideal candidate holds QTS and a relevant RS qualification, with strong communication and classroom management. The role is full-time and permanent, with MPS/UPS dependent on experience; start January 2027.

Qualifications

• Secure subject knowledge in religious, ethical and philosophical issues.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver Religious Studies lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Teach relevant religious, ethical and philosophical topics.
• Develop pupils' critical thinking, discussion and written evaluation skills.
• Encourage respectful debate and informed consideration of different viewpoints.
• Prepare pupils for GCSE assessments.
• Assess progress and provide feedback to support improvement.
• Adapt lessons to meet a range of learning needs.
