Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking a Religious Studies Teacher for a high-performing Grammar School in Bristol. The role is full-time with a January 2027 start and involves delivering engaging Religious Studies lessons, preparing students for GCSE and A-Level exams, and contributing to curriculum planning.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an appropriate teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching Religious Studies in a secondary school is desirable.
• Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for Religious Studies, philosophy and ethics.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Religious Studies lessons across the relevant Key Stages.
• Teach topics covering religion, philosophy, ethics and contemporary moral issues.
• Prepare students for GCSE and/or A-Level examinations where required.
• Develop students’ critical thinking, analytical and evaluative skills.
• Create an inclusive classroom environment encouraging discussion of different beliefs.
