Job summary

Resicare Alliance Ltd is seeking an experienced Registered Manager to lead a children's residential home, ensuring high-quality care for children and young people with SEMH. You will ensure regulatory compliance, manage operations, and foster staff development to achieve positive outcomes for every child.

The role requires robust leadership, strategic planning, and collaboration with Local Authorities, Ofsted, and safeguarding teams, while delivering services within budget and occupancy targets.

Qualifications

• Recognised Social Work qualification or Level 4+ professional qualification relevant to working with children.
• Level 4+ Management or Leadership qualification (Level 5 Diploma if undertaken after Jan 2011).
• Enhanced DBS check valid for working with children and young people.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the senior management team to ensure the home operates effectively and meets quality standards.
• Line manage staff, providing mentorship, supervision, and professional development.
• Manage staffing, recruitment, and workforce planning (permanent, bank, agency).
• Oversee referrals, admissions, and care practices to meet individual needs.
• Deliver the service within budget and occupancy targets, supporting continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and contractual obligations including Ofsted.
• Monitor care plans, risk assessments, and activity programmes with regular reviews.
• Investigate incidents, complaints, and allegations as required.
• Build relationships with Local Authorities, LADO, Ofsted, and other professionals.
• Fulfil Health & Safety and safeguarding responsibilities for children and staff.
