Job summary

Charter Academy is looking for a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (Grade 4) to support pupils from Early Years through Year 6. The role can be full-time, part-time or a job share and offers a pro-rata salary of £23,296 for hours and weeks worked, alongside a full-time equivalent of £26,846.

The post involves working with responsible staff, planning and delivering lessons, and taking lead roles during PPA times while building strong partnerships with parents and the community.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children across the primary age range.
• Knowledge of the EYFS Framework and the national curriculum with willingness to develop further.
• Ability to relate well to children and adults.
• Ability to lead a class and support lesson planning.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare lessons for individuals, groups and whole classes.
• Deliver lessons and learning experiences to individuals, groups and whole classes as required.
• Assess and mark pupil development, progress and attainment and report on it.
• Support pupils with special educational, physical or emotional needs using specialist skills.
• Participate in professional development and support other staff in their development and training.
• Assist in supervising, training and development of volunteers, students and other staff.
