Job summary

Everyturn Mental Health is expanding its Woodland House residential service in Beckenham and seeks a Peer Support Worker to use lived experience to inspire hope and support residents toward independence. The role involves one-to-one and group support, building confidence, and helping residents access community resources.

You will work Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm, with enhanced rates for evening and weekend work; a multidisciplinary team supports your practice in a therapeutic environment.

Qualifications

• Personal lived experience of mental health challenges and recovery.
• Strong belief in recovery and empowerment.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Compassionate, person-centred approach.
• Understanding of peer support boundaries and reflective practice.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Basic IT skills and commitment to learning.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and group peer support using lived experience to inspire hope.
• Build trusting relationships with residents based on empathy and respect.
• Support residents to develop confidence, independence and self-management.
• Help residents identify strengths and set personal recovery goals.
• Assist access to local services and community resources.
