Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking a Music teacher for an Oxford school to deliver practical and theoretical Music across Key Stage 3 to 5, including GCSE and A-Level Music Technology.

You will collaborate with Expressive Arts staff and peripatetic tutors, lead extra-curricular ensembles, and guide students through composition, performances, and exam preparation. A full-time, permanent role with an immediate start is offered.

Qualifications

• QTS or recognised UK teaching credentials (PGCE / SCITT) required.
• Honors degree in Music, Music Performance, Music Technology, or related discipline.
• Strong practical musical skills; keyboard/piano proficiency advantageous; software literacy.

Responsibilities

• Teach practical and theoretical Music across KS3, KS4, and KS5.
• Direct extra-curricular music ensembles, choirs, bands, and school concerts.
• Guide GCSE and A-Level students in composition, performance, and exam prep.
• Maintain music classrooms, recording equipment, and instrument inventories.
• Assess, track, and report pupil progress across performance and coursework.
• Fulfill pastoral duties as a Form Tutor to support wellbeing and development.
