Job summary

Novus is hiring a Maths Teacher to join our prison education team at HMP Swinfen Hall, delivering Functional Skills Maths to young adults aged 18 to 28. The role is permanent, full-time, 37 hours per week, with a focus on creating engaging maths lessons in a secured setting.

As a qualified Maths Teacher you will plan, deliver and assess learning, supporting learners toward recognised qualifications and helping them gain confidence with numbers and practical maths skills for employment and daily

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher with PGCE or Certificate of Education.
• Commit to obtain the outstanding subject qualification within 12 months.
• Hold a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy.
• Experience creating stimulating maths environments conducive to learning.

Responsibilities

• Teach Functional Skills Maths to young adults 18–28 in a prison education environment.
• Plan and deliver engaging maths lessons and assess progress.
• Adapt teaching to meet diverse needs and abilities.
• Maintain accurate progress records and reports.
