Job summary

Holy Family Catholic Primary School in Addlestone is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work with the class teacher, supporting the development and education of children and assisting in delivering and evaluating learning programmes. You will help with pupil learning, manage behaviour under guidance, and adapt teaching materials for individuals or small groups.

The role may include safeguarding duties, personal care where appropriate, and assisting with breakfast and after-school

Qualifications

• Assist in delivering and evaluating learning programmes.
• Support pupils' learning and the management of behaviour under guidance.
• Safeguarding duties in accordance with school policy and current legislation.
• May carry out personal care routines as appropriate.
• May assist with breakfast and after-school wraparound care.

Responsibilities

• To provide support for the class teacher with their responsibility for the development and education of children in schools, assist in delivering and evaluating programmes and meeting the pupils' need for encouragement, reassurance and comfort.
• To assist in the development of pupils' learning, the provision of care and the management of pupils' behaviour under the guidance of teaching staff, senior colleagues or other professionals.
• To assist in the delivering and evaluation of learning programmes and adapting teaching materials to meet the individual needs of pupils or small groups.
• Deliver 1-1 and/or group support/intervention and monitor pupil performance
• Carry out routine tasks to organise and maintain the learning environment
• Ensure the well being, behaviour and personal development of pupils
• Fulfil safeguarding duties in accordance with school policy and current legislation
• Promote the school's values and striving towards its Mission through compliance with the school's policies and practices
• May be required to respond to pupils' needs in routine, pre-agreed tasks (including routine medical needs)
• Hours allocated to breakfast and afterschool wraparound care supporting and supervising pupils before and after school as required.
