Job summary

Oakfield House School, part of OFG Education, is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to support autistic students and those with additional learning, communication, or behavioural needs. You will work with experienced teachers to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

The role involves 1:1 and small group support, preparing resources, monitoring progress, and promoting positive behaviour to help students build confidence and achieve more.

Qualifications

• Holds GCSE Grade 4/C or above in English and Maths (or equivalent).
• Passionate about supporting children and young people to achieve their full potential.
• Patient, compassionate and skilled at building positive relationships.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in delivering a broad, engaging and personalised curriculum.
• Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to help students access learning and achieve their goals.
• Assist in implementing educational and behavioural programmes that meet a range of needs.
• Encourage students' confidence, independence and positive relationships.
• Monitor and record students' academic, social and emotional progress and share feedback.
• Prepare learning resources and classroom materials for stimulating lessons.
• Promote positive behaviour and help create a safe, nurturing environment.
• Accompany students on educational visits and enrichment activities.
