Job summary

St Hilda’s Church of England High School in Liverpool seeks a qualified History teacher for a part-time 0.6 FTE post. You will create a safe, stimulating classroom, plan engaging lessons, and support pupils’ progress while upholding the school’s values and safeguarding policies.

You will be a strong communicator, able to deliver high-quality History education, lead PSHE and Careers Guidance where required, and contribute to the school community with professionalism and enthusiasm.

Qualifications

• Qualified and knowledgeable History teacher.
• Excellent classroom management and high expectations.
• Ability to lead PSHE and Careers Guidance.
• Experience teaching in a comprehensive school.

Responsibilities

• Establish a safe and stimulating environment for pupils.
• Set goals that stretch and challenge pupils of all backgrounds.
• Demonstrate positive attitudes and behaviour expected of pupils.
• Tutor duties: register students, accompany assemblies, lead form prayers.
• Promote progress and good outcomes in History.
• Be accountable for pupils’ attainment and progress.
• Plan teaching based on pupils’ prior knowledge and needs.
• Use assessment to monitor progress and provide feedback.
• Manage behaviour and maintain a safe learning environment.
