Job summary

A welcoming secondary school in Sheffield is seeking an inspiring Teacher of History to join its Humanities faculty on a full-time, permanent basis starting in January.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging History lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE History), with potential Key Stage 5 A-Level History delivery. You will guide pupils through key eras, source evaluation, and essay writing techniques, while supporting extracurricular humanities activities and pastoral duties.

Qualifications

• QTS or recognized UK teaching credentials.
• Honours degree in History or closely related discipline.
• Proven potential to deliver GCSE/A-Level History outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Teach History across KS3/KS4 and possibly KS5.
• Guide pupils through source evaluation and essay writing.
• Use archives, digital media, and site visits for context.
• Assess and report student progress in essays and exams.
• Support humanities clubs, debate teams, and trips.
• Fulfil pastoral duties as a Form Tutor.
