Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Degree in History or a related subject.
• Strong subject knowledge and understanding of the History curriculum.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and inspire students of all abilities.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
• Previous teaching experience is desirable; ECTs are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging History lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 experience is desirable).
• Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that promotes curiosity and academic achievement.
• Assess, monitor, and report on student progress in line with school policies.
• Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and learning styles.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and effective classroom management.
• Encourage students to develop critical thinking, source analysis, and independent learning skills.
• Prepare students for internal assessments and external examinations.
• Contribute to the development of the History curriculum and departmental initiatives.
• Support enrichment activities, educational visits, and extracurricular programmes where appropriate.
