Job summary

Novus, part of the LTE Group, is hiring an English Teacher in Leeds. You will deliver engaging English lessons to learners in a prison education setting, inspiring them to achieve and progress.

The role is part-time (29.6 hours per week) with a pro-rata salary between £30,208.88 and £39,648.96 per annum, and a focus on creating a vibrant learning environment within HMP Leeds. You’ll join a dedicated team committed to rehabilitation and high standards.

Qualifications

• Hold a teaching qualification and where applicable, relevant subject specialist qualification - with a commitment to obtain the outstanding qualification within 12 months.
• Hold a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
• Have experience in creating stimulating, vibrant environments which are conducive to learning and motivational for learners
• Have previous track record showing achievement of quality targets
• Have successfully produced accurate and timely reports
• Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills
• Can motivate and enthuse learners
• Have organisational skills to prioritise workload to meet deadlines and targets
• Demonstrate positive team working

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging English lessons to learners in a prison education setting.
• Create a positive and motivating learning environment to support progression.
• Prepare and submit accurate progress and attendance reports.
• Collaborate with colleagues to deliver consistency and high standards.
