Job summary

Blackburn College is seeking an enthusiastic Apprentice Computing Lecturer to join the Apprenticeship Team. The role is part-time (18.5 hrs per week) with a pro-rata salary range of £28,273 to £42,655 per annum.

You will deliver high-quality teaching, coaching and support across Computing apprenticeship programmes. Responsibilities include planning and delivering learning sessions, progress reviews, and assessment of apprentice work while supporting learners to achieve qualifications and

Qualifications

• Qualified in Computing/IT discipline with current industry knowledge across hardware, software, networking, infrastructure and/or software development.
• Experience in teaching, training, coaching or mentoring learners, ideally within apprenticeships, FE or workplace settings.
• Practical IT experience in support, infrastructure, networking or software development.
• Familiarity with virtualisation technologies, particularly Proxmox Hypervisor or equivalent platforms; comfortable with digital systems including Office and e-portfolio platforms.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging learning sessions and programs.
• Conduct progress reviews and assess apprentice work.
• Provide individualized support to help learners achieve qualifications and apprenticeship standards.
• Collaborate with employers to ensure apprentices develop relevant workplace skills and meet funding requirements.
