Job summary

Atherton St George's CE Primary School invites applications for a Class Teacher. The post is based at the school in Atherton with a full‑time timetable and a salary on the MPS scale.

The position is temporary until 31 August 2027 and subject to references and safeguarding checks. We seek an enthusiastic, dedicated teacher who can deliver engaging lessons, support pupils with SEND, and contribute to the school community through extracurricular activities and collaborative working with colleagues

Qualifications

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Strong understanding of effective teaching and learning strategies.
• Excellent classroom management skills.
• Commitment to inclusion, equality and raising standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality teaching in line with the National Curriculum.
• Create a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
• Assess, monitor and record pupil progress and inform future teaching.
• Work with SENDCo to support children with SEND.
• Adapt teaching to access learning for pupils with additional needs.
• Contribute to wider school life through extracurricular activities and enrichment.
