Job summary

Atherton St George's CE Primary School invites applications for a Class Teacher. The post is based at the school in Atherton with a full‑time timetable and a salary on the MPS scale.

The position is temporary until 31 August 2027 and subject to references and safeguarding checks. We seek an enthusiastic, dedicated teacher who can deliver engaging lessons, support pupils with SEND, and contribute to the school community through extracurricular activities and collaborative working with colleagues

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, dedicated and highly motivated Class Teacher to join our friendly and supportive team.

The Purpose of the role:

As a Class Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging, inclusive and challenging learning experiences that enable all pupils to achieve and make excellent progress. You will create a positive and nurturing classroom environment where children feel valued, supported and inspired to learn.

The Successful Candidate Will:

• Deliver high-quality teaching in line with the National Curriculum.
• Create a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
• Establish high expectations for achievement, behaviour and attendance.
• Assess, monitor and record pupil progress effectively and use assessment information to inform future teaching.
• Work closely with the SENDCo and other professionals to support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
• Adapt teaching approaches and resources to ensure pupils with additional needs can access learning and achieve success.
• Build positive and productive relationships with pupils, parents and carers.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities, events and enrichment opportunities.
• Demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
