Job summary

Elementa Support Services is seeking a Teacher of Mathematics to join partner secondary schools across Rhondda Cynon Taf and surrounding areas.

This contract role offers full-time hours with part-time considered, and opportunities to teach KS3 and KS4 (KS5 where applicable).

You will deliver engaging lessons, monitor progress, and uphold safeguarding standards. A QTS and an Enhanced DBS are required; EWC registration is preferred. Weekly pay and ongoing CPD are offered.

Qualifications

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
  • Has an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or is willing to apply).
  • Experience teaching Mathematics in a secondary school (including placements).
  • Excellent communicator with strong classroom management.
  • Enthusiasm, positivity and passion for helping young people succeed.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and inspiring Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 opportunities where applicable).
  • Bring mathematical concepts to life through creative and effective teaching strategies.
  • Encourage curiosity, resilience, and confidence in every learner.
  • Prepare students for GCSE success while developing problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Create a positive, inclusive classroom where every student feels supported.
  • Monitor progress, provide meaningful feedback, and celebrate success.

We're Looking For Someone Who:
  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Is registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
  • Has an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or is happy to apply—we can help with this)
  • Has experience teaching Mathematics in a secondary school setting (including teaching placements)
  • Is an excellent communicator with strong classroom management skills
  • Brings enthusiasm, positivity, and a genuine passion for helping young people succeed
It Would Be Great If You Also Have:
  • Experience teaching GCSE Mathematics with confidence
  • Experience teaching KS5 Mathematics or Further Mathematics
  • A creative and adaptable approach to lesson planning and delivery
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice
