Job summary

Engage Education is seeking an EYFS Teaching Assistant for a Reception class in Eastbourne. You’ll support children as they settle into school life, assisting with phonics, early reading, writing and maths activities, and help create a nurturing classroom environment.

The role focuses on play-based and child-led learning, developing confidence and independence while working with a supportive Reception team and a welcoming school.

Qualifications

• Experience with Early Years education and EYFS curriculum.
• Careful and supportive approach to young learners in a primary setting.
• Level 2/3 TA or Childcare qualification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support children throughout the EYFS curriculum.
• Work with pupils individually and in small groups.
• Support play-based and child-led learning.
• Assist with phonics, early reading, writing and maths activities.
• Encourage children’s communication, confidence and independence.
• Support social and emotional development.
• Create engaging learning activities and classroom displays.
• Collaborate with class teacher and EYFS team.
