Job summary

SGS is seeking a field-based inspector to assess pressure equipment at client sites across the UK, delivering clear technical reports that verify compliance with UK and EU regulations.

You will mentor peers, provide guidance on compliance topics, and uphold strict safety standards while supporting efficient operations and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Experience inspecting pressure vessels, piping systems, and related equipment.
• Knowledge of UK and European pressure equipment regulations.
• Ability to deliver statutory inspections and produce technical reports.
• Work independently with accuracy and professional judgement.

Responsibilities

• Inspect pressure equipment and containment systems per PED, PESR, ADR, TPED and TPER.
• Assess and report inspection findings in SGS procedures and standards.
• Manage inspection activities with safety and compliance.
• Provide technical guidance to colleagues and customers on compliance matters.
• Collaborate across client sites to support operations and customer satisfaction.

• Conduct inspections of pressure equipment and containment systems in line with PED, PESR, ADR, TPED and TPER requirements Independently assess and report inspection findings in line with SGS procedures, industry standards, and regulatory requirements Manage inspection activities safely, ensuring compliance with risk assessments, health and safety legislation, and company policies Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues and customers on pressure equipment inspection and compliance matters Perform inspections in a commercially focused manner to support operational efficiency and customer satisfaction Tasks Experience inspecting pressure vessels, piping systems, safety accessories, and related equipment Experience in engineering, inspection, manufacturing, process, petrochemical, or industrial environments Knowledge of UK and European pressure equipment regulations and standards Ability to deliver statutory inspections and produce technical reports Ability to work independently with high accuracy and professional judgement Key requirements Performance related bonus Private medical cover Competitive pension scheme + Life Assurance Generous Annual Leave allowance An additional day off for your birthday Health & Wellbeing initiatives
