Altrad Integrity Services are currently recruiting for an Inspection Engineer / Plant Inspector to support the growing inspection department on existing and new contracts. The role will be based at the Teesside Wilton office and include some travel.

Location: Teesside

Contract: Permanent

Responsibilities

• Execute inspections of pressure equipment in accordance with the Written Scheme of Examination (WSE) and the Pressure System Safety Regulations (PSSR 2000)
• Execute inspections of atmospheric storage tanks in accordance with EEMUA 159 / API 653 guidelines
• Prepare inspection work scopes to satisfy the WSE requirements
• Assess degradation, raise appropriate defects and report significant concerns for further assessment
• Prepare and submit high‑quality inspection reports, accurately describing equipment condition
• Recommend changes to WSE requirements or inspection intervals as required during the examination process
• Execute and/or liaise with conventional and advanced NDT teams to support examinations
• Participate in the Risk Based Assessment programme for pressure equipment and storage tanks
• Mentor junior inspection engineers, maintaining high levels of safety and quality
• Support the development and implementation of company policy and procedures
• Maintain Altrad Integrity Services professional and safety standards

Role Requirements

Qualifications

• Ordinary National Certificate / Engineering Technician (Essential)
• Higher National Certificate / Incorporated Engineer (Desirable)
• MFL floor scanning experience (Desirable)

Experience / Skills

• At least 5 years’ experience carrying out in‑service inspection of pressure equipment
• Experience conducting PSSR thorough internal and external inspection of pressure equipment (e.g. pressure vessels, protective devices, heat exchangers, process pipework etc.)
• Experience conducting thorough internal and external inspections of atmospheric storage tanks
• Experience working to and amending WSE
• Experience writing and approving Inspection Reports
• Knowledge and understanding of relevant industry regulations, codes and standards (i.e. PSSR (2000), ASME VIII, API 510/570 and EEMUA 159)
• Knowledge and understanding of typical damage mechanisms and relevant inspection techniques
• Knowledge and understanding of NDT techniques and their applicability
• Knowledge and understanding of Risk Based Inspection (RBI) principles
• Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, with an ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
