Qualifications

• Logistics experience in a large fast-moving environment.
• Strong warehouse system experience.
• A strong knowledge of Health & Safety at work.
• Experience of working to agreed targets.
• Intermediate PC Skills: Excel, Word, Outlook.
• Understanding of warehouse practices e.g. picking, loading.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operational functionality and performance of the inspection operations from off-load from trailers to presentation for inspection and reload on to trailers.
• Loading and unloading lorries including manual handling, using roller cages and other MHE
• Undertaking manual and/or electronic reporting requirements as requested
• Take instruction from our on-site partners to support the inspection process
• Updating the PINC Yard Management System following training
• Carry out operational tasks to achieve departmental and site objectives
• Maintain the inspection environment following training
• COSHH Awareness following training
• Assist drivers locating bays, support drivers in direction to bays and offices
• Champion a health and safety culture

Based in Ashford, this part-time temporary post with Pertemps DHL at the Sevington IBF site offers flexible cover work. As an Inspection Operative, you will manage daily operational flow, from trailer off-loading through to presentation for inspection and reloading. Duties include loading and unloading lorries, manual handling, using roller cages and other MHE, plus completing manual or electronic reports. You must be available for both 06:00-14:00 and 14:00-22:00 shifts, including weekends. Hourly pay ranges from £13.45 to £22.20 for overtime. This role suits students seeking adaptable hours. You will take instruction from supervisors and ensure performance targets are met. We are currently recruiting talented Inspection Warehouse Operatives to join our team at the IBF site in Sevington, Ashford. Part-time on-going cover work, covering holidays/sickness and increased volumes of work. Must be able to cover both 06:00-14:00 and 14:00-22:00 shifts and weekends. Rates of pay from £13.45 up to £22.20 overtime rate. This is an ideal opportunity for students!

Conditions:

• Weekly or monthly pay available
• Day shift £13.45ph
• Night shift £14.80ph
• Overtime paid at time and a half

To be eligible you need:

• NO unspent convictions and be able to pass a basic Criminal Record Check/Disclosure (DBS check)
• Ability to provide 3 years referencing contacts and have been resident in the UK for the last 5 years.
