Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day inspection operations from off-loading trailers to presenting goods for inspection and reloading onto trailers.
• Load and unload lorries, using manual handling and MHE like roller cages.
• Complete manual and electronic reporting as required.
• Follow on-site partner instructions to support the inspection process.
• Update the PINC Yard Management System after training.
• Carry out tasks to achieve departmental and site objectives.
• Maintain a safe inspection environment following COSHH awareness.
• Assist drivers with locating bays and directions to bays and offices.
• Promote a health and safety culture.

Job description

The IBF Inspection Operative (Part Time Weekends) position, based in Ashford, covers Saturday and Sunday shifts at the Sevington site, with 06:00-14:00 or 14:00-22:00 patterns available. This ongoing role pays £13.45 per hour, rising to £22.20 for overtime. Duties encompass the full operational flow, from unloading trailers to presenting goods for inspection and reloading. You will handle manual loading, use roller cages and other equipment, complete manual or electronic reports, and follow partner instructions. Training covers the PINC Yard Management System, which you will update as required. The hourly rate and weekend rota suit those seeking regular part-time work with additional earning potential. We are currently recruiting talented Inspection Warehouse Operatives to join our team at the IBF site in Sevington, Ashford. Part-time on-going work Saturday-Sunday rota, both 06:00-14:00 and 14:00-22:00 available. Rates of pay from £13.45 up to £22.20 overtime rate.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Responsible for the day-to-day operational functionality and performance of the inspection operations from off-load from trailers to presentation for inspection and reload on to trailers.
• Loading and unloading lorries including manual handling, using roller cages and other MHE.
• Undertaking manual and/or electronic reporting requirements as requested.
• Take instruction from our on-site partners to support the inspection process.
• Updating the PINC Yard Management System following training.
• Carry out operational tasks to achieve departmental and site objectives.
• Maintain the inspection environment following training COSHH Awareness following training.
• Assist drivers locating bays, support drivers in direction to bays and offices.
• Champion a health and safety culture.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Logistics experience in a large fast-moving environment.
• Strong warehouse system experience.
• A strong knowledge of Health & Safety at work.
• Experience of working to agreed targets.
• Intermediate PC Skills: Excel, Word, Outlook.
• Understanding of warehouse practices e.g. picking, loading.

Conditions:

• Shift patterns will be Saturdays and Sundays.
• Weekly or monthly pay available.
• Day shift £13.45ph.
• Night shift £14.80ph.
• Overtime paid at time and a half.

To be eligible you need:

• NO unspent convictions and be able to pass a basic Criminal Record Check/Disclosure (DBS check).
• Ability to provide 3 years referencing contacts and have been resident in the UK for the last 5 years.
