INSIDE SALES ENGINEER REQUIRED ASAP BASINGSTOKE, IMMEDIATE START AVAILABLE. 28-32K/ANNUM

Our client, a busy manufacturing company based in Basingstoke, is currently seeking an Inside Sales Engineer. The role involves supporting sales activities within a dynamic environment, working closely with Divisional and Regional Sales Managers and Engineers.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

An enthusiastic and proactive Technical Applications Engineer is needed to join a team, providing technical support and sales assistance in a fast-paced setting.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  1. Raise sales quotations responding to customer requests and external Sales Managers.
  2. Manage quotations from initiation to conclusion, including follow-up actions.
  3. Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, and other channels, supporting sales efforts.
  4. Ensure accuracy and timeliness in daily processes within tight deadlines.
  5. Provide prompt responses to technical queries related to Gauge Selection, Accessories, Instrumentation, and Bonding activities.
  6. Take ownership of issues, investigating and resolving them promptly.
  7. Engage in Business Development activities, from lead generation to closing or handing over to external sales managers.
  8. Identify market and sales opportunities, supporting external sales teams with appointments and opportunities.
  9. Maintain customer databases (QAD & CRM).
  10. Generate reports and documentation aligned with customer and internal expectations.
  11. Proactively support existing and potential customers, supporting external sales activities.
  12. Stay informed on industry trends, standards, and innovations to advise the sales team and expand market offerings.
OTHER PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Attend meetings and conference calls.
  2. Write application notes and articles for internal and external use.
  3. Perform other tasks within the department as requested.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

Minimum two years' experience in a technical B2B sales role within manufacturing or distribution is required. Candidates should be team players, detail-oriented, and eager to develop. Knowledge of Strain Gauge technology and Data Acquisition systems is essential.

EDUCATION:

Candidates should have above-average numeracy, literacy, and IT skills. A degree in Electronics or Mechatronics Engineering is preferred. Strong ERP skills, excellent communication, and presentation skills are vital, with proficiency in spoken and written English.

DIMENSIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

A degree of autonomy will be provided; therefore, independence, initiative, and decision-making skills are necessary.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Primarily office-based, with no specific safety issues. Ability to manage a varied and sometimes pressurized workload is important.
