Job summary

University of Brighton is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the InPlace implementation, a new centralised system for managing student placements, compliance and related data. You will oversee data migration, configuration, testing, go-live and transition into business as usual.

You will coordinate across academic and professional services teams, manage risks, governance and reporting, and ensure compliance with university policies.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading a significant project to successful, timely completion.
• Strong project management, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Experience managing complex data, systems or business processes.
• Ability to plan and prioritise competing activities with high accuracy.
• Strong administrative skills and implementing effective processes.
• Ability to analyse information and develop practical solutions.
• Proficient IT skills including Excel, Word, email and web-based tech.

• Degree-level education or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for day-to-day project management of the InPlace implementation.
• Develop and maintain a clear project plan with milestones, dependencies, risks and actions.
• Lead data migration and cleansing from legacy systems.
• Coordinate stakeholder requirements and system configuration.
• Oversee system testing, UAT and issue resolution.
• Develop project governance and reporting arrangements.
• Identify and manage project risks and escalate issues promptly.
• Coordinate activities across academic and professional services teams and external partners.
• Ensure project documentation and decisions are recorded.
• Support go-live and transition to business as usual.
• Monitor delivery against objectives, timescales and resources.
• Create efficient procedures to support sustainable working practices.
