Job summary

St Michaels Hospice is seeking a Palliative Care Support Worker in its Inpatient Unit to deliver person-centred care across inpatient and home settings. You will work under the supervision of registered nurses, providing holistic care, emotional support, and help with daily living tasks, with unsocial hours payments noted.

The role requires hands-on care experience, a full UK driving licence, and flexibility to cover evenings, weekends and night shifts as needed, with a fixed-term 12-month

Qualifications

• Experience delivering hands-on care in palliative settings.
• Possess full UK driving licence and be over 21.
• Desirable NVQ Level 3 in care.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individualised, holistic palliative nursing care to patients and families.
• Provide emotional/psychological support and identify referrals to hospice services.
• Maintain patient privacy and dignity and a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Assist with feeding and medication management within your competency.
