Job summary

St Michaels Hospice is seeking a Senior Palliative Care Support Worker to deliver holistic palliative care at patients’ homes or in inpatient settings. The role includes coordinating Support Workers, rostering, and contributing to care plans under registered nurse direction.

Essential experience includes hands-on palliative care and NVQ Level 3 in care. Expect unsocial hours payments and a commitment to safeguarding and patient dignity.

Qualifications

• Hands-on care experience delivering palliative care.
• NVQ Level 3 in care or equivalent.
• Basic IT skills.
• Full UK driving licence (over 21, held 12 months).

Responsibilities

• Deliver individualized palliative care to patients and families at home or in inpatient settings.
• Coordinate Palliative Care Support Workers activities and patient allocations.
• Assist with care planning, risk assessment and documentation; escalate changes in condition.
• Support bereavement care and maintain patient dignity and confidentiality.
